Knocking Out Barriers, Lifting Up Communities
Mental Health Awareness
JAF provides workshops, counseling, and strategies to help young people build resilience, manage stress, and boost self-esteem. Our programs break the stigma around mental health and offer lifelong coping tools for overall well-being.
Sports Development
Boxing teaches resilience, discipline, and perseverance—skills essential for life both inside and outside the ring. JAF offers structured boxing training sessions, access to state-of-the- art gyms, and mentorship from seasoned athletes.
Education
JAF partners with schools and organizations to provide tutoring, reading clubs, and educational resources, keeping underserved youth engaged, improving literacy, reducing dropout rates, and supporting their academic success through mentorship.

Joseph Agbeko – A Champion’s Legacy
Joseph Agbeko (born March 22, 1980) is a retired Ghanaian professional boxer and two-time bantamweight world champion. Over his illustrious career, he held the IBF bantamweight title twice (2007–2011), the Commonwealth bantamweight title (2004–2006), and the IBO bantamweight title (2013). He also challenged for the super bantamweight world title in 2013.
Agbeko made history on September 29, 2007, by defeating Luis Alberto Perez to claim the IBF bantamweight crown. He successfully defended his title against top contenders, including Vic Darchinyan in 2009, before losing it to Yonnhy Pérez later that year. Beyond the ring, his contributions to Ghanaian sports were honored in 2010 when the town of Sogakope enstooled him as Togbe Kaletor I, meaning “Brave Warrior.”
After an exceptional career and a lasting impact on boxing, Agbeko announced his retirement on August 14, 2024, following a four-year hiatus. His legacy as one of Ghana’s greatest boxers continues to inspire the next generation of athletes.
